Because our candles and home fragrance products are meticulously crafted and inherently fragile, we handle every order with the utmost care. This Shipping Policy details our procedures, delivery times, costs, and terms to ensure a smooth and transparent delivery experience.
By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Order Processing Time
All orders are subject to a processing period before shipment.
- Standard Processing: Most orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days (excluding weekends and Irish public holidays).
- Peak Seasons: During high-volume periods, holidays, or promotional sales, processing may take up to 5 business days.
- Dispatch Notification: As soon as your candles leave our warehouse, you will receive a automated dispatch email containing your tracking number and a direct link to monitor your shipment.
2. Shipping Destinations
We proudly ship our premium products domestically and internationally. Our major shipping zones include:
- Domestic: Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Continental Europe: All major member states of the European Union (EU).
- International: The United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and select global destinations.

3. Shipping Rates and Delivery Estimates
Shipping charges for your order are calculated in real-time and displayed clearly during the checkout process. Delivery timeframes are estimates provided by our couriers and are not guaranteed.
Domestic Shipping (Ireland)
- Standard Shipping: 2–4 business days. Free for orders over €50.
- Express Shipping: 1–2 business days.
European Union (EU) Shipping
- Standard Mainland Delivery: 4–7 business days.
- Priority Courier: 2–4 business days.
International Shipping (Rest of World)
- Standard International: 7–14 business days (dependent on customs clearance).
- Express International: 3–6 business days via premium global couriers (e.g., DHL or FedEx).
4. Delivery Address and Delivery Information
- Address Accuracy: Customers are fully responsible for providing a complete and correct shipping address at checkout. We cannot modify shipping addresses once the package has been dispatched from our facility.
- P.O. Boxes: Please note that our couriers cannot deliver fragile liquid or glass candle shipments to P.O. Boxes or military addresses. A physical street address is strictly required.
- Failed Deliveries: If a package is returned to our facility in Ireland due to an incorrect address, missing phone number, or uncollected delivery attempts, the customer will be responsible for the secondary shipping costs required to resend the package.
5. Customs, Duties, and Import Taxes
- Within the European Union: Because Waterford Candle Company Limited operates out of Ireland, orders shipped to destinations within the EU are not subject to additional customs duties or import tariffs.
- Outside the European Union (International Orders): Orders shipped outside the EU (including the UK, USA, and global destinations) may be subject to local import taxes, customs duties, and brokerage fees levied by the destination country.
- Payment Responsibility: All such additional fees, taxes, and clearances are the sole responsibility of the recipient/customer. We have no control over these government charges and cannot predict their exact amounts.
6. Safe Packaging and Fragile Items
Candles and glass jars require special handling. We pack every order using sustainable, heavy-duty protective padding and shock-absorbent materials to minimize the risk of breakage during transit.
In the rare event that your items are damaged by the courier during delivery, please refer immediately to Section 7 of our Refund and Returns Policy to initiate a mandatory physical return and claim a replacement. Do not discard any packaging materials or broken components until you have contacted our team.
7. Lost or Delayed Shipments
While we partner with highly reliable courier services, unexpected transit delays can occasionally occur due to extreme weather, customs hold-ups, or logistical strikes.
- If your tracking link shows no movement for more than 10 business days for domestic orders, or 20 business days for international orders, please notify us immediately.
- We will open an official investigation with the carrier. A package is only declared officially “lost” once the courier concludes their internal investigation, at which point we will issue a full replacement.
